There are train services here in Malawi. But they are often crowded and don't run in the desired speed. Buses here, therefore, are more convenient medium of transport for the tourists. There are different types of buses that serve both the tourists as well as the local people. There are the luxury buses that are air-conditioned and have video facilities inside. These are mostly availed by the tourists. There are minibuses as well. These buses operate in the routes or roads that are not accessible for the larger buses. The road borders in Malawi are opened from six in the morning to six in the evening. The visitors mostly get a 30 day tourist pass. The citizens of the Commonwealth countries including a few others like South Africa, Portugal, USA, and Finland don't need any Visa to travel Malawi. There are plenty of safaris and bushcamps arranged in Malawi for the tourists.
