Malawi Animal

Malawi animal is always a subject of interest to the tourists who visit this country. In fact, the animals in Malawi are the key attractions for
the travelers. Malawi is a country in African continent. A major section of the country is covered with forests and plateaus. These parts of the country are far from the city with its din and bustle. Such places are naturally preferred by the wild animals. As Malawi is in Africa, it is quite obvious that there are a few particular animals like lions and rhinos in the forests of Malawi. Earlier, the hunters used to kill the wild animals here in numbers. In order to stop that, the government has made nine wildlife reserves and national parks where these wild creatures are now under the supervision of ever alert security guards.

As we have already said, there are nine national parks and wildlife reserves scattered all over Malawi. The wild Malawi animals are preserved here. In fact, Malawi is one of the few African countries where five major African animals are found. They are the lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants. There are some other animals like the antelopes, caracel and serval that are also found here. Caracel and serval are actually two different species of small wild cats. They are small yet very dangerous. But the animal that is most commonly found in Malawi is the hippo. In fact, the hippos are found in such a big number in Malawi, that now-a-days, the animal has become an unofficial symbol of the varied Malawi wildlife.
