The spread of HIV Aids in Malawi is a matter of deep concern. Due to this deadly disease the life expectancy of the Malawi people have lowered to a large extent. Several non governmental organizations are working in Malawi to create about HIV AIDS in Malawi.
The World Health Organization has been working in this country for a long time to prevent the occurrence of HIV AIDS in Malawi.
According to statistics, it has been shown that more than 900,000 people have been affected with AIDS. More than 84,000 Malawians have died due to this incurable disease. Typhoid, hepatitis A and waterborne diseases are a common occurrence among the people but HIV AIDS is the most common among them. Thousands of Malawians have lost their life due to this deadly disease. Following is some information regarding the HIV prevalence in Malawi:

USAID is a member of the Malawi government. Their effort in prevention of AIDS in Malawi has attained great success. The HIV testing and counseling services were provided to the Malawians free of cost. The various programs conducted by these organizations help in spreading awareness about HIV AIDS in the country. Malawi had received grants from America for the prevention of AIDS. For providing good treatment to the HIV AIDS patient and for conducting care programs the country has received $18.9milion in the year 2005 ( Fiscal Year).
