Nikola Gruevski is the present Prime Minister of Macedonia. Gruevski was born in Skopje in 1970. He became the Macedonia Prime Minister on 26th August in 2006. He has a fantastic political career as well as his academic career. In the government of Macedonia, the Prime Minister occupies a significant position. He is a well educated man and can speak English. He also has a fair knowledge of German and French.
Nikola Gruevski studied Economics and achieved Bachelor Degree from the Faculty of Economics in Prilep. He also holds a Diploma from Securities Institute in London. He started his professional career by joining Balkan Bank in Skopje. He achieved the post of Head of the Liquidity Department in the Financial Institution.
Nikola Gruevski became Minister of Finance in the VMRO-DPMNE government in 1999. He remained in this post for three years. During his tenure, VAT was introduced. Several financial reforms were carried on in Macedonia during this time. Gruevski is one of the members of the Forex Club of Macedonia and also of ACI; The Financial Markets Association.
In May of 2003, Nikola Gruevski became the new leader of VMRO-DPMNE after defeating Georgievski. Nikola Gruevski, the Macedonia Prime Minister has taken measures to reduce unemployment in the country. He also want to fight poverty and concerned about bringing corruption and crime under check.
