Macedonia elections are marker of its long struggled democracy. Macedonia has a multi party system. The elections in Macedonia takes place, most of the time to give rise to coalition government in the country. It follows a parliamentary and democratic system in governmental procedures.
The political system of Macedonia comprises of a single-chamber Assembly. This Assembly has 120 deputies. By proportional representation, the members are returned from 6 electoral districts.
In Macedonia elections, the registered voters can cast their respective votes in polling stations. Selected candidates from coalition and from different political parties contest for the seats in Assembly. Generally, within 24 hours after polls closing, the State Election Commission of Macedonia announces the polling results. To monitor polls in Macedonia, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe sends experts. It also sends long-term observers, short-term observers and domestic observers for this purpose.
In Macedonia elections, the majority vote by the deputies of the Assembly decides the election of the Council of Ministers or Cabinet. After the election gets over, the Assembly is responsible for electing the Prime Minister of the country.
