Luxembourg Flora and Fauna

Luxembourg flora and fauna are basically influenced by the climatic conditions of two different regions of the Central-European and the Atlantic-European. This is also one of the major reasons why the Luxembourg flora and fauna exhibits mixed characteristics. Luxembourgian flora is famous for the grapes and the crops of the Moselle valley around the world.

The oak trees as well as the beech trees found in the northern regions are also world renowned and provide the best quality wood from the oak trees. Black alder and willow trees are also available across the sides of the river. Luxembourg flora and fauna give birth to the medicinally useful alder trees and the ornamental trees of willow. Similarly, the Luxembourgian fauna is also quite famous across the globe for the varied species of the animal world.

A huge variety of deers and wild boars are available in the Luxembourg fauna. There are also other important varieties of animals which can be located in the world of Luxembourgian flora and fauna like trout, eel, pike, carp, pike perch and other such varieties of fishes.

The fauna and flora of Luxembourg are preserved in the Upper Sure Natural Park, which was established in the year 1961 and is the best available habitat for the growth and the sustenance of the plants and animals in Luxembourg.
