Dallas is the second largest city of Texas and the county seat of Dallas County. It is situated in the northeast of Austin on the Trinity River. A Tennessee lawyer, John Neely Bryan, first settled it in 1841 as a trading post on the Trinity River.

The Dallas-Fort Worth International airport is one of the busiest in the nation catering to the heavy traffic of a number of flights to Dallas. Regional airlines use the Dallas Love Field Airport.
