Alabaster is by far, the largest city in Shelby County, Alabama, USA. On 23rd February 1953, Alabaster was officially incorporated as a city. The first bank of Alabaster was opened in 1952, and its president, George L. Scott Jr., later became the first Mayor of Alabaster.
It annually organizes the City fest, one of the largest public gatherings of Shelby County. This Fest, which began as a celebration of Alabaster's 50th birthday in 2003, has now grown into one of the most popular celebrations of the area. City Fest features live music performances, a large children's area with games, rides and other fun activities. Even the vendors get a chance to showcase and sell merchandise and food items.
Every year in December, Alabaster also holds one of Alabama's largest Christmas Parades. The city also has a pro-business community and an honest and fair corporate atmosphere making it the most preferred business location in the area.
