Aberdeen is a city in Bingham County (in the Blackfoot metro area) of Idaho state, in the USA. It has a Mayor-Council form of Government. Apart from the Mayor and the 6 member City Council, some other significant officials incharge of day-to-day administration are the Police Chief, the Fire Chief, the Public Works Director, the City Clerk or Treasurer and the City Attorney. The city derives its name from the original Aberdeen city in Scotland. About 12% of its residents trace their descent from Germans while about 4% report Irish origin.
