Music Schools in Lithuania

Music is an integral part of the life of Lithuanian people. The cultural life of these people is enriched by various kinds of songs, dances and instruments. It is not surprising that one can find many schools of music in this country. There are a number of Lithuanian Music Schools where one can learn about music. Many of the students of these schools are foreigners.

Some of the Lithuanian Music Schools are

Vilnius Music School "Lyra": This music school was established in January of 1993. It was opened as a supplementary educational opportunity for those students who were in the secondary school. It includes the departments of Folk Instrument, Piano, Woodwind/Brass Instruments, String According, Pop Music an Choir and Solo Singing.

Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre: It was founded in 1933. Being the state institute of higher education it produces highly professionals in music, theater and multimedia art. This institute includes four faculties such as Faculty of Piano and Musicology, Faculty of Instrumental, Vocal Music, Faculty of Theatre and Film and Kaunas Faculty. It organizes nearly 400 concerts every year.



These music schools of Lithuania provide training on vocal music, various instruments, music history, theory of music, composing music etc. The contribution of these schools in the field of music can not be dined.
