Ministry of Education Lithuania approves the general content of teaching and also the studies and training under the framework of formal education. It also sets the national standards for higher education and vocational training. The implementation of the national education policy is done by the County Manager's Administration. It also supervises the activities of the subordinate education providers. Ensuring the teaching learners is also its duty.
Ministry of Education and Science supervises the function of all schools, colleges and universities. But the most of the activities, education programs of the pre-primary, primary, basic and secondary schools are supervised by the Municipality.

The two efficient Ministers of Education Lithuania are Mykolas Birziska and Leonas Bistras. Mykolas Birziska is a historian, diplomat, editor, professor of literature, politician and one of the signatories of the Act of Independence of Lithuania. Leonas Bistras on the other hand is equally efficient as he is a politician, translator, philosopher, journalist and professor and a student of medicine.
