Academy of Music and Theatre, Lithuania

Music and Dance has always been an important part of the cultural life of Lithuania. It is one of the major performing art that accompanies most of the events of their life. People used to learn music from their parents and grand parents. Presently there are various music schools in Lithuania. One of the most famous Lithuanian music school is Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre was established in 1933. It is a state institution of higher education. Students of this institute later become highly professional musicians, theater personalities and multimedia artists. The teaching staff are quite experienced. The aim of this institute is to integrate into the global academic community and also to develop cooperation with other international institutes and exchange students and teachers to offer quality standards education in the field of art.

Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre has got four faculties such as Faculty of Instrumental and Vocal Music, Faculty of Piano and Musicology, Kaunas Faculty and Faculty of Theatre and Film. Training is provided on vocal music, various instruments, music history, theory of music, composing music etc.



This music school of Lithuanian organizes nearly 400 concerts per year. Other than that students of this institute participate in international concerts, competitions, orchestras, performances, music festivals etc. Some of the important projects undertaken by Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre are Nordic/Baltic Youth Chamber Orchestra, international choir and orchestra academy in Vilnius, international summer master class for young opera singers and orchestra performers the Magic Flute in Nida, international theater summer school Baltic Seaside Drama etc.
