Located in the Baltic region, Lithuania consists of a number of villages. They are widely scattered and are situated in various districts of the country. Villages in Lithuania reflect
the beautiful countryside and contain various architectural, historical and religious structure. Varying in population and settlement patterns, the villages of Lithuania are adorned by remarkable and kaleidoscopic landscapes.

Some of the popular villages in Lithuania are Upyte, Zalavas, Rykantai, Kena, Krosna, Margionys, Rubikiai, Dysnai, Krakiai, Pakerai etc. Each of the Lithuanian village have different number of inhabitants. Most of the people are ethnic Lithuanians and speak Lithuanian. The villages can be reached by rail or bus. Some of the villages are well-developed.



Along with unspoilt natural beauty, the Lithuanian villages also contain churches, cathedrals, castles and other religious and historical structure. The architecture of these structures represent the various foreign architectural styles that have influenced Lithuanian architecture over centuries. The villages have long histories and have withstood the ravages of time. Some have been destroyed during times of political turmoils while some still bear witness to the long past of Lithuania.
