Palanga Amber Museum, Lithuania



Located at Palanga in Lithuania, the Palanga Amber Museum is an emphatic representation of the cultural heritage of Lithuania. It was established in 1963 in the estate of Count Feliksas Tiskevicius.
Encircled by the Palanga Botanical Gardens, the estate which was previously the residence of the count. Now, it houses the Palanga Amber Museum.

Serving as a major crowd puller in Lithuania as one of the most popular tourists attractions, the Palanga Amber Museum takes up 15 rooms in the estate. It contains a vast and fantastic collection comprising around 4000 exhibits. The museum is a storehouse of a wealth of fascinating and unique amber pieces, many of which contain trapped plants or insects. Specimens of fossilized tree raisin collected from all over the world also feature among the exhibits of the Palanga Amber Museum of Lithuania.



Approximately 8 million have visited the museum. A branch of Lithuanian Art Museum, the Palanga Amber Museum in Lithuania is well-known for a number of cultural and traditional events. The terrace is the venue for the serenade concerts that take place during the night. Cultural events and rendezvous with various artists also take place in the Fireplace Hall of the Estate.

The museum is the place where a tourist can learn about various facets of Lithuanian culture.
