The National Parks of Lithuania provide a glimpse of the natural wonders of the country. The undulated expanse covered by dense forests, cut across by numerous meandering rivers and dotted with several lakes, makes for an ideal landscape for the location of the National Parks of Lithuania, specially in the south and southeast regions of the country.
The five National Parks of Lithuania are Aukštaitija National Park, Trakai Historical National Park, Dzukija National Park, Kursiu Nerija National Park and Zemaitija National Park. Covering approximately thirty percent of the total land area, these National Parks of Lithuania are home to diverse species of plants, animals and birds.
One of the chief tourist attractions of Lithuania, the National Parks, also protect the culture and heritage of the small villages situated inside their boundaries. The Baroque castles within the National Parks of Lithuania feature as added attraction. The main tourist activities in the National Parks of Lithuania include hiking, botany, wildlife spotting, horse-riding, etc.
