The people, art, language, music, education, religion, politics, festivals and ethnic groups are an integral part of the Lesotho Society and Culture. The Sotho community forms 99.7% of the total Lesotho population while other ethnic groups constitute 0.3% of the population. The traditional food of the Lesotho society is sweet briar or the Rosa rubiginosa, from which the rosehips are obtained.

The culture of Lesotho is mainly based on the traditional customs, village life, festivals and religion of the land. Among all other festivals, the Morija Arts and Cultural Festival is of prime significance since it is a unique cultural extravaganza. The Morija Arts and Cultural Festival takes place in two phases during a year. The first segment of the festival is known as the Morija Festival Cultural Competition, while the second segment is famously known as the Morija Arts & Cultural Festival.
