Lesotho child care department provides comprehensive guideline to improve the living conditions of the children from poor and destitute family backgrounds. The SOS Children’s Village Association of Lesotho, under the supervision of the SOS-Kinderdorf International, aims at offering a safe and caring home for the under-privileged children of the nation.
The organization has started a project in Lithabaneng, which is located on the fringes of Maseru in Lesotho. Under the project, any child from economically deprived background is enrolled into organization for healthy and balanced development of personality. Each project of the SOS Children’s Association houses a proper home, kindergarten school and health care units that cater to all the needs of a growing child.
‘Lesotho Save the Children’ organization formulates several programs for improving the standard of living among the poor children. The organization has constructed many houses for handicapped children. The orphanage homes of the organization provide special care and attention to the children. The training center of the “Lesotho Save the Children” in Masite imparts modern knowledge to grow crops.
Lesotho Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Lesotho Planned Parenthood Association offers relevant information regarding family planning. The Christian Health Association of Lesotho, popularly referred to as CHAL, operates 9 hospitals over specified areas, and more than 70 health care centers in rural areas.
The Government of Lesotho, in association with UNICEF offers training in the field of child health care. Lesotho child care aims to provide a healthy childhood to all the children of the nation.
