Maseru



Maseru, the capital of Lesotho, is considered to be the busiest city in the country. The international airport of Lesotho, which serves as the main gateway to the country, is located in Maseru. The city is also made a central base for exploring the other attractions nearby Maseru. It is also an entry point for drivers, who come from Bloemfontein and Johannesburg.

Maseru shares land borders with South Africa. Though the city is developing yet, signs of globalization and industrialization are prominent in Maseru. With many governmental and administrative buildings and offices, the place is full of hustle bustle throughout the day, especially during the peak hours.

  • The Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories: Located at the entrance of the city, this ancient cathedral is one of the most frequented places in Maseru. However there are many places of attractions in close proximity to Maseru. Some of these include:
  • Thaba Bosiu: The place has historical importance and contains many ruins and tombs.
  • Roma: This particular place is an educational center. The National University of Lesotho is located here. The Roman Catholic Mission also has its headquarters at Roma.
  • Morija: Morija has a beautiful museum. Apart from that, there is also a beautiful tea garden in close proximity to the museum. The landscape of the place is equally attractive.
