Lebanon media includes in its arena a wide array of news channels consisting of television channels, newspapers, radio, Internet and magazines. News agencies, publishing and advertising also feature as important aspects of media in Lebanon. Lebanon media is controlled by the communications industry of the country.
Lebanese media can be categorized under three broad divisions, namely media type, media focus and language. Media of Lebanon comprises broadcast, newspaper, Internet, magazine and the press. Focus of Lebanon media includes general interest and business. The languages used to distribute news are Arabic, French, English and Armenian.
Broadcast news media in Lebanon includes various TV channels and radio stations like Al Manar TV, Future TV, LBC, NBN, Lebanon FM, and Voice of Lebanon. These deal with national and foreign news. There are also a number of local TV channels and radio stations. Internet news media comprises of Lebanon Wire, Al Bawaba, El Sohof, Big News Network, Inside Lebanon, Lebanon Newswire etc. Executive, Al Massira, An Nabaa etc feature are the main magazines in Lebanon. The three leading newspapers are Al Anwar, Al Nahar and Al Safir. Al Markazia and National News Agency are the two News agencies of Lebanon.
Besides these, there are a number of local news media in Lebanon like Al Biqaa (Zahle), Al Samal (Tripoli), Bayrut (Beirut). These run a number of channels and newspapers in Lebanon. Business media in Lebanon too is a significant part of the Lebanese media. Lebanon media is the principal medium through which distribution of international, national and regional news takes place.
