To experience the taste of Lebanon cuisine one should try the Lebanese dish called Kafta. Kafta requires ingredients that are easy to find and assemble and the method of preparation to is convenient and takes little time. Therefore, fast to cook and delicious to taste, Kafta must be tried by those who love to experiment in cooking.
Recipe of Kafta is a blend of various ingredients cooked to make a mouthwatering dish that is a favorite with the Lebanese people. The ingredients required for cooking Kafta comprise 2/5 pound of meat, which should be ground well. 3 ounces of the meat should be fat and the rest of it lean. Along with it is needed 8 ounces of onion which should be chopped finely, 2 and half tablespoons of salt, 1 teaspoon spices and 2 bunches of parsley. Spices include cinnamon, sweet and hot peppers, which should be mixed.
Preparing Kafta is quite easy. The meat should be put through a grinder two times. The onions, chopped fine, should be rubbed with salt and spices. Parsley should be chopped well and it should then be added along with the onions to the meat. A thorough mixture of all these need some time till it becomes very thick. This mixture should then be divided into several portions. Each portion required to be molded on skewers. Then these parts should then be boiled over fire. Arab bread can be used to collect the juice that drips from the mixture. This should be served hot with any type of salad.
