The Beiteddine Festival is one of the most attractive festivals of Lebanon. A palace, which is 200 years old in the small town of Beiteddine sitting in the mountainous area of the Chouf, serves as the venue of the festival. Mirroring the rich and vibrant culture of Lebanon the Beiteddine Festival features great music and performances by renowned artists of the world.
From the time of its creation the Beiteddine Festival in Lebanon has staged brilliant performers. Whether regional artists or internationally acclaimed performers, the Beiteddine festival has always been a platform for the great musicians and vocalists to express their talents. Performers who have participated in the festival include Maurice Bejart, Jessey Norman, Kazem al-Saher, Elton John, Fairuz, José Carrera, Cesaria Evora, Tito Puente, Youssou N'Dour, Montserrat Caballe, John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, Placido Domingo etc.
Cultural and musical performances are held at various parts of the palace in Beiteddine, which was is an early 19th century construct and represents the architectural splendor of the country. Of the many courtyards 3 are used for the Beiteddine festival of Lebanon. Besides these a large and spacious hall has be renovated for the display of photographs, paintings and sculptures. Magnificent illumination and the imperial nature of the palace make it the ideal venue for this cultural festival.
