Lenin Peak Kyrgyzstan

Lenin Peak Kyrgyzstan is third largest peak of the former Soviet Union. Lenin Peak of Kyrgyzstan is located on the borders of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan with an elevation of 23,406 feet or 7,134 meters in the celebrated Trans-Alay Range of the Pamirs. Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan was formerly known as Mount Kaufmann until it was changed in 1928 and named in honor of the former Russian hero and leader Vladimir Illych Lenin, currently of course it is called Kuh-i-Gamo, which means Warm Mountain. Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan is formed somewhat like a high armchair, although due to poor visibility in the cloud cover the outline is a bit obscure. Lenin Peak at Kyrgyzstan was mapped by its discoveree the illustrious Russian pioneer of Central Asia A. P. Fedchanko in 1871.

The first North face ascent was completed by three members of the expedition of 1934 on 8 th September. The mountain is known as a reputed high altitude “walk-up” as easy climbs are called and hence is highly popular with climbers. However many experienced mountaineers have even died here as the result of extremely unpredictable weather. The main base camp is called Achik Tash and the Lukovaya Polyana is the last closest greenery that occurs before the stony moraines of the mountain slopes are encountered.
