The Kyrgyzstan people feature different kinds of clothes. Kyrgyzstan Costumes are mainly traditional and the geographical landscape also influences the way they dress. The costumes of Kyrgyzstan is perfectly blended with the comfort level of the people residing this place.
The traditional clothes of Kyrgyzstan are seen among the rural population. The women wear long skirts and scarfs teamed with blouses. The men's clothing comprises of simple pants rather than jeans. Shorts are worn very seldom and the entire dressing is represented in a much modernized form in the cities. There is one strange practice among the Kyrgyz people, the women dress in a gaudy way for everyday routine works, but are comparatively plain during special occasions. Another aspect that can be seen among them, is that they wear the same set of dress for a long term and do not change the attire every day. The reason is not unavailability or unhealthy atmosphere but this is one of their customs.
The climate of the mountains and sometimes the continental climate had an influence on the national costume of Kyrgyzstan. In summers the men wear a "chapan" or a sheep skin coat, this is more prevalent among the nomadic tribe. In winters, padded waistcoats without sleeves is an added armour to the inner garment which is often a thick shirt.
The Kyrgyzstan Costumes are recently being influenced by the western culture, yet the traditional clothes is the favorite of the inhabitants. On the contrary there are many modern designers in the surrounding countries who take inspirations from the ancient clothes of Kyrgyzstan.
