Kyrgyzstan Flag is red in color and represents the circular roof of the traditional Kyrgyz yurt just in the middle of the flag. The yurt is surrounded by 40 prominent golden sun rays. There is a small story behind the representation of the golden rays of the Sun. The legend goes that the national hero of the country Manas was successful in uniting 40 tribes under his leadership. The forty rays represents the forty tribes .It is also said that the forty rays represent the forty brave men of Kyrgyzstan. The yurt is the main part of the flag of Kyrgyzstan because it represents the roof of the traditional hut or tent of the tribal Kyrgyzstan people.
After the decision of Supreme Soviet the state flag was adopted on 3rd March 1992.The red color used in the flag symbolizes courage and the golden rays reflect harmony and richness. "Tunduk" is the central element of the flag and symbolizes the home of father. Kyrgyzstan gives a lot of importance on the history of the nomadic people so the flag is also a tribute to them. The forty tribes in the national flag of Kyrgyzstan represent the unified tribes of Manas.
Kyrgyzstan Flag represents the traditional culture and valor of the people.
