Kyrgyzstan Forestry is supervised by the Kyrgyzstan state fund. The total land area under the State fund is 2,861.3 thousand hectares, among which 843 thousand hectares of land are covered by dense forests.
The extensive land share of the Republic Forest Fund with 89.9% land is controlled by the State Forestry Agency. The woods of the Kyrgyzstan forests make up 4.6% of the town and the dense forests make up the 3.6%. Among these forest reserves of Kyrgyzstan, there are farms covering 2.4% of the entire republic state of the forest fund area.
The forest woods in Kyrgyzstan comprises of more than 170 large trees and bush species. The main species found in the forests of Kyrgyzstan are junipers, walnut tree and Tien-Shan fir-tree. The most expensive coniferous woods comprises 38.7% of the forest area. The walnut tree plantations make up about 4.6%. The bushy grooves covers up a big share of 41.3% forest area. The extended forest tracks grow at the height ranging from 1300 to 2800 m above the sea level.
The forests in north Tien-Shan consists of rare species of trees like Picea schrenkiana, fir tree, poplar Popules ssp and willow Salix spp. The dry territories of west Tien-Shan has vast areas growing pistachio-tree Amuldalus. Some other species that rae predominant in Kyrgyzstan are Acer spp, apple-tree Malus spp, Junglans regia and Djalal-Abad oblast.
The department of Kyrgyzstan Forestry have undertaken special measure to retain the rich collection of the woods in this mountainous landscape.
