Kuwait Theaters and Musical Societies give the various artists and art lovers in Kuwait a chance to showcase their talents and skills. The Kuwaiti government encourage the development of those people with interesting artistic talents and habits. There are several Kuwait Theaters and Musical Societies in the main centers of the country.
History of Kuwait Theaters and Musical Societies
The first performance of amateur plays were given in 1922. It was in the year 1945, that the first batch of drama students went to the “Egyptian Higher Institute for Acting” from Kuwait. After finishing their dramatic studies they established the hub of the Acting Society. This led to the growth of Kuwait Theaters and Musical Societies which is plays an important role in the development of Kuwait entertainment. Later many theatrical troupes like the Popular Theater and Arab Theater and the Institute of Theater Studies also sprung up. In olden days there were four English theaters where pantomimes, musical and classical plays were performed. The Kuwait Little Theater was reconstructed in 1994 after Liberation, where dramas and musicals are held round the year. This is one of the important Kuwait Theaters and Musical Societies. The Kuwait Singers and Kuwait Folk Club are composed of very good musicians and singers, where instruments like fiddle, guitar, harmonium and many more are commonly in use.
The country has scores of Kuwait Theaters and Musical Societies where the best talents of Kuwait perform.
