Kuwait Prime Minister is the head of the Kuwait government. The present Prime Minister of Kuwait is HH Sheikh Nasser. The functions of the Kuwait Prime Minister are no different from that of the British Prime Minister.
Responsibilities of Kuwait Prime Minister
The Kuwait Prime Minister leads the executive branch of the government with the help of the Council of Ministers or the Cabinet. According to the tradition of the country the post is held by the Crowned Prince of Kuwait. Amiri Decree is the procedure that is followed while appointing the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister recommends the Cabinet Misters to the Amir or President of Kuwait, who later on appoints them in their respective posts. The Prime Minister of Kuwait and his Cabinet Ministers are answerable to the Amir and the National Assembly of the country.
HH Sheikh Nasser (2007), the present Prime Minister of Kuwait received his early education in Kuwait, but completed higher education from University of Geneva, Switzerland. With his extensive knowledge in Political Science and Economics, HH Sheikh Nasser has been very successful in his political career. The Kuwait prime minister has good command over some of the international languages like Arabic, Persian, English and French, which is considered as one of the major requirements for being a Prime Minister.
