Nuka is located in the
Beru Island that is situated in Tungaru of the
Kiribati Islands.
Nuka is a part of the fifteen kilometers long coral reef
Beru that is 4.75 kilometers in width. It is one of the major attractions of Kiribati situated in the Pacific ocean. The central part of the coral reef which is shallow is known by the name of
Nuka Lagoon.
The
Nuka Lagoon covers more than half of the reef. It is situated in the northeast side of the coral reef. The
dimension of Nuka is around 13.9 kilometers. It is 0.5 to 2.9 kilometers wide. The
Nuka Lagoon is situated near the equator.
Nuka is present amidst the man made ponds all around it. It is situated at the northern most tip of the reef. The fish ponds around the shallow depression is used for fishing purposes. The picture is same in the southern part of
Nuka. The southern part of
Nuka comprises of mangroves that extend to three kilometers of the lagoon. The
Nuka Lagoon consists of a pavement that is situated at the opening of the inlet and a landing strip on the flat plain in the
interior part of the Nuka Lagoon.

Nuka lagoon at the center of the coral reef is popular with the tourists for the beautiful sight of the coral reef and the sea that it offers.
Nuka offers a passage insid4e it that makes one close to the beauty of the reef and the sea. The passage to the interior of the
Nuka Lagoon is quite broad that allows large number of people inside it. It is one of the most sought after places in the Kiribati islands.
