Mount Kenya National Park

Mount Kenya National Park was established in 1949. The Mount Kenya National Park covers an area of more than 1,300 sq. km. The park was incorporated as a World Heritage Site in 1997. This park is ranked as one of the best with regard to its scenic beauty and diverse wildlife. The Colobus, Sykes monkey, bushbuck, buffalo, and elephant are the most amazing animals of this park. The lucky visitor also gets to see the antelope bongo and the albino zebra which is hardly seen in the wilderness. The lower reaches of the park are home to other species of animals such as hyena, black rhino, giant forest hog, genet cat and leopard. It also contains a few endangered species as Sunni buck, Mole Shrew, and several varieties of owl.
