Kenya Times is one of the slick newspapers published in Kenya. During the times of former President Daniel Arap Moi of Kenya Kenya Times was under the aegis of the Government from 1984. The ruling party Kenya African National Union(KANU) used this newspaper as their mouthpiece.
The outcome of remaining as a state controlled media of mass communication was however not advantageous for Kenya Times. The rigid vigilance of the Government over the publication affected its popularity. The expression of thoughts and opinions was regulated and any mildly sensitive article was stopped from being published.
Things have however changed for the better in recent times. Kenya Times has profited from the Government's decision to free the print media from rigorous vigilance. The press has been allowed to voice their opinion.
Since the change in the attitude of the government Kenya Times has become quite popular. With its daily dose of political, economic, social and cultural news from all over the world it has gained a place among the important newspapers of Kenya. The language of Kenya Times is English. It is connected to the World News Network for news updates.
