Kenya Election

Kenya Election is held after every 5 years to form a new Government in Kenya. Kenya elects on national level a head of state & a legislature. Republic of Kenya was a one-party state between 1969 to June, 1982. Later on it became a multi-party state in November, 1991. The existing parties of Kenya are:

In Kenya Election The President is elected by people to run the system for 5 years. But this can be renewed once. The Presidential candidate also has to win 25% or more of the vote in at least five of the Kenya's seven provinces. The president is both the chief of the state and the head of the government.

The Vice President and Cabinet are appointed by President, who is a member of the National Assembly and is above 35 years old. In the absence of the President ( if he dies or not present for some other reason ) the Vice President becomes interim President for 90 days until someone else is elected for that post through Kenya Election.

The members of the Parliament are elected by the registered voters. 210 members are elected and 12 of the members ( excluding Two ex-officials ) are nominated by the President. After independence, elections to the National Assembly have been held on 6 Dec 1969, 4 Oct 1974, 8 Nov 1979, 27 Sept 1983, 21 April 1988 and 29 Dec 1992.
