World famous artists and group performers are brought to Kenya every year in the Kijani Kenya Music Festival by the Kijani Kenya Trust. In different parts of the country the performances takes place. The performance mainly takes place in the Nairobi Arboretum, Fort Jesus in Mombasa, Hell's Gate in Naivasha, Ol Pejeta in Laikipia and the Mt Kenya Safari Club in Nanyuki.
The Kijani Music Festival was originated in the year 2004.From the time of its origin Kijani The Music Festival Of Kenya has collected KSh13 million for the purpose of charitable projects. Kijani Kenya's Music Festival has entertained more than 10,000 people since its origin. In the year 2007 the repertory of Kijani Kenya Music Festival was expanded. The repertory was expanded for including Jazz in the Park, the performance of Royal Ballet Company and an output of Gershwins' classic Porgy & Bess. Safaricom LTD. is the chief sponsor of Kijani Kenya Music Festival.
For bringing the world-wide applauded music and cultural events at Kenya, for visiting important centres in the country for educating and raising funds for helping the Conservation of natural resources and HIV/AIDS projects at Kenya, the Kijani Kenya Trust was established in the year 2004.
