Kings Highway takes turns through many biblical towns, crusaders castles and Islamic towns. The thoroughfare was first mentioned in Bible. It was the main street through which Moses led his disciples in southern Jordan. It is also being said that this highway of Jordan has derived its name from Genesis 14.

Kings Highway of Jordan stretches about 335 kilometers and passes through farmland, plateaus, forests, deserts and the Aqaba Tropical Gulf. The
Kings Highway also makes it way through several Nabataean temples, Roman fortresses and towns of different kingdoms.

Kings Highway takes a turn from Amman and winds southwards passing through the Ammonites, a biblical kingdom. The important sites include Aroer,
Madaba and Hisban. It also passes through the Wadi Wala valley and jumps into the Grand Canyon. Petra, the Nabataean capital, is one of the major stop on this highway.
