The first private university of Jordan, Amman University was established in 1990. A benchmark in the field of private higher education, Amman University-AU is recognized by Jordanian Council of Higher Education, the sole accrediting authority of Jordan.
An active member of the Association of Arab Universities, AU has tried to provide a high quality university education. In order to provide world class education to its students, Amman university has recruited academically recognized faculty members and designed degree programs in accordance with the curricula of best universities of the world.

- Building A houses President’s office, the office of public and cultural relations, the faculty of Arts and Sciences, a multipurpose auditorium and the main library.
- Building B houses the deanship of student’s affairs, the faculty of economics and administrative sciences and a library.
- Building C houses the faculty of engineering,the faculty of pharmacy and medical science, the International office, office of admissions and registration the office of the director-general, the office of the deputy director general, the accounting and finance department, the central computer and supplies office.
- Building H houses the deanship of scientific research, faculty of law, lecture rooms and a library
- Residence hall for girl students.
