Jamaica has Consulates located in many cities in the world. These serve basically the same purpose as an Embassy, improving relations and helping out in issues of immigration and tourism. It is somewhat a secondary body to the Embassy and the High Commission.

It works closely with the Embassy and the High Commission to ensure friendly and mutually beneficial relationships between the nations.
A major function of the Jamaican Consulate is the issuing of travel documents and other important documents to Jamaican nationals residing there, and also to foreign nationals who wish to visit or reside in Jamaica. It also finalized the approval or authorization in these matters. It holds forums and meeting to communicate to the people the requirements and necessary prerequisites of to and fro immigration.
The Jamaican Consulate also helps celebrating cultural and other important milestones for Jamaican people in foreign land. They conduct regular programs to encourage the quick and effective spread of education. Lastly, they keep regular contact with government officials in the country and facilitate the communication of Jamaica's interests to them. They liaise with these personnel to ensure a congenial and mutually beneficial relationship between the nations.
Jamaica has a number of Consulates in the US, including places like Washington DC, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston. Apart from these, Jamaican Consulates are also found in places like Singapore, Hong Kong, France etc.
