Italy Food and Wine are varied in nature and is world famous for its cultural difference and diversity. It is not an imitation of any particular type of cuisine but a refectory blend of Greek, Roman, Gallic, Germanic, Goth, Norman, Lombard, Frank, Turkish, Hebrew, Slavic, Arab and Chinese culinary.
There are regional differences in food tastes of Northern and Southern Italy.
Italian food is also very seasonal. Italian food can thus be distinguished from other world class cuisines due its innate nature of being fresh and priority to seasonal productions.
Northern and Southern Italy gastronomy are assorted. Where the northern Italian food uses more butter and creams, the southern residents like to have more tomato and olive oil. There is also a marked difference in the cooking style of fat and traditional food of pasta. Moreover, inland northern and north-eastern regions like extra butter, cream, polenta, mascarpone, grana padano, and parmigiano cheeses, risotto, lasagna and fresh egg pasta. On the other hand, the coastal northern and central Italians are somewhat fond tortellini, ravioli and prosciutto. The southern Italian food is more concentrated with mozzarella, caciocavallo, and pecorino cheeses, olive oil, and dried pasta. However, the traditional Italian cuisine does not follow strict North-South patterns.

Italian style coffee or the local caffè is mainly consists of:
- Espresso - A concentrated coffee prepared by mixing boiling water and finely ground coffee beans at high pressure.
- Caffè macchiato is another form topped with steamed milk or foam; Caffè ristretto has less water and made stronger in taste.
- Cappuccino is mixed with steamed, mostly frothy, milk.
- Caffe latte is in-between espresso and steamed milk types. Similar to café au lait only the latter being served in larger cups.
- Latte macchiato contains a glass full of warm milk with a bit of coffee.
Italian wines are not considered only as a refined drink but are also taken during a course of the main meal like lunch or dinner. One of the oldest wine regions in the world , Italian Wine are grown in a well organized way in large scale production.
Italian cuisine is inseparable from Italian wine . There are three main Italian Wine growing regions: Piedmont (Barolo), Venetia (Amarone, Pinot Grigio, etc.) and Tuscany (Chianti, Brunello). Italian wine can be divided into two type:
Rosso (Red) – Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Montepulciano, Barbera, Corvina, Nero d'Avola, Dolcetto, Negroamaro, Aglianico, Sagrantino, Malvasia Nera, etc.
Bianco (White) – Trebbiano, Moscato, Nuragus, Pinot Grigio, Tocai Friuliano, Ribolla Gialla, Arneis, Malvasia Bianca, Pigato, Garganega, etc.
The main characteristic of Italian culinary is its healthy balance diet with the excellent basic ingredients. They can be easily cooked by retaining the original healthiness and freshness.
