Italy Forests are growing faster day by day. This flourishing Italy Forests is indeed a crucial Kyoto asset. It is working hard to reach the targets of Kyoto Protocol. The current report says the Italy Forests has succeeded in combating the global warming.
Nowadays deforestation has becoming major problem for the most of the countries. But the Italian shrub has retained its percentage of increase upto 23% since 1985. Italian Forestry Corps has revealed this study.
Italy Forests cover around 10 million hectares of land which is about one third portion of the entire nation's surface area. These forests are quite helpful in protecting the good health of the Italians. The trees of the Italian Woodlands soak carbon dioxide and decrease the percentage of harm that could be caused by the polluted gas emitted from factories. It is said that Italy Forests is currently soaking around 10 million tonnes of carbon dioxide in a year. The experts of the Forestry Corps said that this will definitely save around one billion euros for the next five years. Otherwise this money would have been spent for cutting down those 10 million tonnes of carbon dioxide.
According to the latest survey the reason behind the growth of Italy Forests is the tree-planting programmes organized by the Italians. Most of the regions of Sardinia and Tuscany are covered by Italy Forests. After them Piedmont and Lombardy are considered to be the woodland-rich land.
But it is also said that the weather change would surely cause a great harm to the biodiversity of Italy forests over the next 100 years.
