Trentino , Italy is an autonomous province of Italy also known as the Autonomous Province of Trento or Provincia Autonoma di Trento in Italian. Located in the region of Trentino-Alto Adige or Südtirol of Italy, Trentino covers an area of 6,214 square km with a density of population of 77 people per square km. The total number of inhabitants is 477,359. The capital city of Trento is a populous among other surrounding urban and suburban areas. Due to its wide spread by area, there are number of telephone codes used by Trentino namely, 0461, 0462, 0463, 0464, and 0465. However, there is only postal code 38100. it is ruled under the presidentship of Lorenzo Dellai.

The origin of Trentino starts from the mid-Stone Age. The valley of the Adige River was dominated by the mankind due to its milder climatic conditions. The archeological evidence say that first settlers who were probably hunters, came from the Padana Plain and the Venetian Prealps. At that time, Trentino province included the comuni of Zambana and Mezzocorona. During the 500 BCE, the Raetians hailed from the Central and Eastern Alps area and settled in several valleys of Trentino region. Civilization became better with the introduction of new activities like agriculture and breeding.

Much later years, in the early 19th century, the people of Trentino participated in wars with the French. Post World War II, the government of Italian and Austria came into the conclusion of signing a treay that led to the formation of the autonomous Region of Trentino-Alto Adige . Not later than the 1960s and 70s, Trentino sustained a strong economic development. Tourism sector spurred leading Trentino to be one of the richest and most developed Italian provinces.

Entirely a mountainous region, Trentino consists of many beautiful valleys running across its center namely, Valle dell'Adige or Adige Valley, Val di Non, Val di Sole, Val Giudicarie, and Val di Fiemme and many more. The most famous is the glaciers of Marmolada.

Some of the linguistic minorities comprise Ladin, German Mócheno and Cimbrian. The main transportation means is the Brennero A22 highway and roadways through the Adige Valley that connects Trentino or rather Italy to German territory. There is also two rail systems namely, the Valsugana Railroad, connecting to Venezia and the Trento-Malè-Marilleva. Trentino is rich in textiles, mechanics, hydro-electric energy, wood and paper productions.
