Molise, Italy

The second smallest region of Italian peninsula is Molise. The region is Referred as "in the mid of mountains and sea" as region contains both a babyish seacoast and a mountainous center.



Molise Italy is a region of mountains in south-central Italy with a very low population density. Italy Molise is bordered to the north-west by Abruzzo, to the south by Campania, to the west by Lazio, to the
south-east by Puglia and to the north-east by the Adriatic Sea. Its life style still remains in the old days. That adds a beauty to the contemporary world.

The modern Molise in Italy was segregated from Abruzzo in 1963. Till that time Molise and Abruzzo together formed a single administrative district. The origin of Molise Italy dates back earlier to 1806 when a province named Molise was formed along with 2 other districts of Campobasso and Isernia. In the modern Italy, Campobasso and Isernia have made 2 provinces of the area of Molise. Few documents of the history of Molise prevail to this day.

The region of Molise Italy has been a witness of the devastating World War II. It was devastated by attacks. The destruction has led to the extinction of many historical artifacts in the region. Many of the relics to reminisce are missed by the contemporary generation because of the deadly wars.

In spite of the deadly attacks on Molise Italy , it remains as a center in the history of Italian art. The art of cryptography started in the ninth century by San Lorenzo in San Vincenzo al Volturno has been continuing by their descendants in Molise. The monuments in Molise of Romanesque style show big influences by the artistic tradition of neighboring Apulia region. The influences of the architecture of Naples and Rome are greatly felt in the baroque styles prevalent in Molise Italy .
