Shiraz Tourism

Shiraz has gained importance as the capital city of Iran for time and again. Shiraz Tourism offers exciting destination to the people visiting the place. The place is historically important in Iran. The numerous buildings and structure of varied cultural and historical importance has attracted people many a times. Shiraz is at times referred to as the City of Love, by the Iranians.

Some places that cannot be ignored while on Shiraz Tourism are as listed below :

  • Tomb of Hafez : This tomb was created in the memory of Hafez, a renowned poet of his time in Iran. The tomb was built after 20 years of his death. The tomb is situated in the Musalla Gardens.
  • Persepolis : this place has been marked as the world heritage site by UNESCO.
  • Vakil Bazaar : the main market place of the city and is located centrally. The bazaar is famous for the ancient courtyards. This place holds an importance in Shiraz Tourism as it offers a wide range of persian rugs, antiques, handicrafts and spices.
  • Nasir al-Mulk Mosque : this mosque is located in the Shiraz Bazaar and is a traditional mosque. This structure was built in the year 1876 and was completed in the year 1888.
  • Afifabad Garden : this area comprises a famous museum which was built during the Qajar era. This was built in the year 1863.
  • Eram Garden : this is a famous garden in Shiraz and is visited by people who move with the intension of exploring the historical remains of the city of Shiraz. This is now under Shiraz University and is maintained by Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization.
  • Shah Chiragh : this is a tomb dedicated to the Ahmad brothers, Amir and Mir. A mosque was built by Queen Tashi Khatun in the 14th century, nearby and this gained importance to the place and holds a great significance in Shiraz Tourism.
