Esfahan Tourism

Esfahan is located south of Tehran at a latitudinal location of 32o39'5” N to 51o40'45” E. Esfahan Tourism is of great interest to people touring Iran in search of historical importance and architectural brilliance. Esfahan is the capital city of Esfahan province. Esfahan tourism gives one an opportunity to experience the glory of the past that the city basked into.

Esfahan tourism definitely comprises of the bridges, the boulevards, palaces, mosques and minarets. The islamic architecture is beautifully portrayed on the walls of the buildings present in Esfahan. A walk down the streets and the squares in Esfahan are an essential part of the Esfahan tourism.

The Naqsh-e Jahan Square is the largest square of the city and the largest city square in the world. This square was built in the year 1602 and has been marked an UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Buildings from the Safavid era surrounds the square. Other city squares of Esfahan like the Shahshahan Square, Meydan Kohne are an important part of Esfahan tourism.

The Chaharbagh Boulevard is another attraction of Esfahan tourism. This was built in the year 1596.

A visit to the palaces of Esfahan forms an important part of Esfahan tourism. The Ali Qapu, famous as The Royal Palace was built in the early 17th century. This palace is located near the Naqsh-e-Jahan square. The palace has seven storeys connected with a spiral staircase. The Hasht-Begesht was built in the year 1669 which is also known as The Palace of Eight Paradises. Today this palace is maintained by Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization.

The Shah Mosque which was renamed “Imam Mosque” after Iran's revolution is another attraction of Esfahan tourism. The Sharestan Bridge built in the 11th century, is the oldest bridge of Iran, the Pol-e Khaju and the Si-o-Seh Pol are all important tourists attraction of Esfahan tourism.
