Health Net of Oregon (formerly known as QualMed ) is a marketing insurance in Oregon, the US, since 1989. Its roots could be traced back to 1938, when some Clackamas County physicians joined hands with local millworkers and employers for the purpose of providing quality health care at affordable costs. The result was the emergence of PACC Health Plans , a local health carrier. In 1997 PACC Health Plans was acquired by Foundation Health Systems, Inc. (FHS) and merged with the local FHS subsidiary, QualMed Oregon (a local FHS subsidiary), to form QualMed Oregon Health Plan, Inc. In 2000, QualMed Oregon changed its name to Health Net Health Plan of Oregon, Inc. Health Net Oregon presently covers more than 100,000 members in Oregon and Southwest Washington and possesses one of the region's strongest provider networks.
