It began writing personal auto insurance in December 1999, and by March 31, 2006, it became the fastest growing auto insurance company in America (it also provides other typs of insurance though). In 2000 Esurance was acquired by Folksamerica Holding Company, Inc., which is a subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance Group . Presently, Esurance is a direct subsidiary of White Mountains. Change Sciences, a Web usability analysis firm, awarded Esurance for having the best customer experience, while A.M. Best has awarded it with A (Excellent) rating.
