1. Excess and Surplus Lines (E&S) provides insurance against risks which the standard market is not willing or able to underwrite owing to the risk characteristics of the insured or the lack of insurers offering such coverage (which can be caused by physical perils, nature of the business or the insured's loss experience). Argonaut Group offers E&S products through Colony and Argonaut Specialty.
2. Select Markets , underwritten by Great Central Insurance, Grocers Insurance, Rockwood Casualty Insurance Company and Corporate Accounts, cover property and casualty risks incurred in the course of being in business.
3. Public Entity provides insurance solutions for small to medium-sized governmental entities including public schools. Trident, AGII's Public Entity service provider, functions as the managing general underwriter and offers insurance packages, including property, inland marine, crime, general liability, public officials' liability, law enforcement liability, automobile liability, and others. Trident writes its products through Argonaut Insurance and Great Central.
4. Risk Management underwrites workers' compensation as its basic line of business, focusing on casualty risk management solutions. Besides, for certain Risk Management clients, commercial automobile and general liability policies are also included as accompanying lines to the workers' compensation coverage. However, AGII has sold the renewal rights to a substantial portion of its risk management business to XL America, Inc. (XL) .
