Indonesian cuisine is blend of a number of cultures and its very own ethnic foods. The influence of India, China, Middle East and Europe are all detectable in the cuisine of Indonesia. The fertile soil of Indonesia is responsible for the growth of a number of crops in the country which are the main ingredients of the food of Indonesia. The meals of Indonesia comprise of polished rice which more preferred by the Indonesians than other forms. Sambals are the main side dishes which are consumed by the people of Indonesia. Dried fish of curries cooked in coconut milk are a part of the every day food. Some of the spices of Indonesian cuisine are turmeric, lemon grass, tamarind, shallots, peanuts and cardamom. Ghee which was brought to Indonesia by the Indians is also present in some of the recipes. Street food in Indonesia is particularly popular and there are number of vendors on the sidewalks selling the local delicacies in their own style. Some of the most popular Indonesian dishes are Gulai, Buntut, Nasi Kuning, Ayam Taliwang, Pecel, Rendang, Betutu and Soto. With a great food there are many drinks in Indonesia like Teh Talua, Es teler, Cendol and Serbat which can be enjoyed.
