In Indonesia there is a well constructed pattern in the education system that is governed by a law. The former law of education in Indonesia was Law No. 2/1989. The present law by which the education system in Indonesia is governed is 20/2003. With this law and other administration, education in Indonesia has a good future for its citizens. There two types of education in Indonesia, the formal and the non-formal education. Formal education is divided into three parts. These three parts are primary, secondary and tertiary education system.
Before the primary education, kids in Indonesia are getting the initial knowledge in several privately owned kindergarten schools. Taking education from these schools are not mandatory and yet there are lots of these type of schools and they are running successfully as they are believed to make the students familiar with their future mode of education.
In educational field in Indonesia there are elementary, middle, high and tertiary schools. It is mandatory for the citizens in Indonesia that they get nine years of education. Elementary and middle schools are mostly attended by the majority of Indonesian citizens while high schools and tertiary education are taken by a few.
