Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is the capital city of the Yogyakarta region in Indonesia. For the traditional art forms and rich cultural heritage Ygyakarta is very famous. Yogyakarta can be said to be the center that upholds the artistic tradition and heritage of classical art of Java. These art forms that Yogyakarta upholds include all form of art, be it drama, dance music like performing art or the batik and other handicrafts. Yogyakarta has such a rich cultural art tradition that it has become a very famous tourist attraction in the whole of Indonesia.

Yogyakarta, as a capital city is developed in almost all aspects of daily life. Apart from being a rich cultural center, Yogyakarta has a number of other travel attractions that attracts a number of visitors. This city had been the capital of Indonesia while Indonesia National Revolution was going on. Moreover, since the city was occupied by the Dutch, there are many buildings that are of Dutch constructions and as such hold interest still. But the most interesting and attractive site that this city is a proud possessor, is the artificial shark tank that is here and the tunnel through it. This tank is located in a recreational building where there are facilities for other type of amusements as well.

In this city the administrative and transportation system are also very well developed and maintained thoroughly. This city is divided into fourteen parts for better administration. Yogyakarta has an international airport and good railway transportation system also.
