Kudus is an Indonesian destination and its one of the Industrial city in Indonesia. Geographically it is placed in the southern foot of Mount Muria which is 50 km east of northeast Semarang, and it's the capital of the province of Central Java.
Kudus is economically dominated by the manufacture of clove flavored cigarettes whereas industries like printing and manufacture of bus and van bodies also exists and Mennonites play major role in these industries.
Kudus of Indonesia is an Islam dominated town and architectural work can be prominently noticed by visiting the Mosques which resembles like the prehistoric temples of the Hindus. Javanese Muslim has a great significance for Kudus since it has religious sentiments attached to it. Actually the burial place and shrine of "Sunan Muria "is located near Kudos and he was second of those nine Muslim missionaries Kudus is also the birth place of the Persataun Gereja Kristen Muria, one among the Mennonite conferences of Indonesia.
Two main service institutions of the Muria Church are located in Kudus and they are directly under auspices of the original congregation. First one is The Christian Educational foundation with schools starting from Kindergarten to senior high schools. Second is named as Rahayu Christian Hospital which has more than 100 beds. Kayu Apu, is just a few kilometers from the north of Kudus and in earlier days effective mission work were carried in this area.
Kudus Indonesia is quite a typical town from the rest of Indonesian Destination as it is more of historic and religious significant than any other facts.
