Volleyball in Iceland is another favorite sports of the mass. Iceland has a number of sports ranging from the traditional volleyball, beach volleyball, football, tennis to a number of wildly exciting adventure sports like scuba diving, ice climbing, horse riding, hiking in the glacier range and many more. Iceland has several volleyball competitions held in the national and international levels. This sports associations takes care of the competitions that Iceland takes part in the international volleyball competitions. This association organizes both the men and women volleyball competitions in the international level with the other countries in competition.
There is yet another association in the sports of volleyball that has its branch in Iceland as well. It is called Northern European Volleyball Zonal Association or NEVZA. This volleyball association has a limitation in the sense that it organizes volleyball competition among the Nordic countries only. In a volleyball competition organized by NEVZA, the countries that take part are, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Faeroe Islands, Finland, Greenland and Sweden. NEVZA organizes volleyball competition in the junior and Youth National level. Iceland has both the men and women volleyball teams that take part in all these competitions in the national and in the international level.
