Swedish

Swedish language is another Scandinavian language in which group Icelandic language is also there. In fact, Icelandic language and the Swedish language belong to the same Scandinavian language group based on their origin. Swedish language has its root in the Old Norse language. The North Germanic language has Swedish language along with other languages that belong to this group. But more particularly, Swedish language belongs to the East Scandinavian language of which the Danish language is another one.

Swedish language is spoken in Iceland as well along with other foreign languages that are used widely in Iceland. But Swedish language does not enjoy that much popularity as Danish enjoys as the second important foreign language in Iceland. Moreover, despite the fact that Icelandic and Swedish primarily belong to the same language group, there are many difference between these two languages. There are almost no mutual affinities between Swedish and the Icelandic languages. But in Iceland, there are institution which provides Swedish language education as a necessary foreign language.

Swedish language is the official language of Sweden. This language is widely used in Finland as well. Swedish language has a very old tradition and historical trail behind it. During the 12th century Swedish language began to evolve and established itself as a new form of language. At that period this language was known as the Old Swedish language. At the time of European Renaissance, Swedish language evolved further more and became the New Swedish language. But the modern Swedish, in which Swedish language is now spoken, evolved towards the end of the 19th century with some literary artists of high water mark.
